The Orange Ocellaris Clownfish is the classic and instantly recognisable orange, white and black-banded clownfish. It is one of the most popular marine aquarium fish in the hobby and is an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced reef keepers.
Orange Ocellaris Clownfish are hardy, peaceful and highly adaptable. Their bright orange body, contrasting white bands and black edging make them particularly attractive against live rock and colourful corals.
They can be kept individually or as a pair. When kept as a pair, they will establish a small territory and may eventually spawn once mature and settled.
Although they naturally associate with anemones, an anemone is not required in captivity. They may instead choose a coral, rock, aquarium decoration or another suitable area as a host.

Yes. Pairs are very popular and can establish a territory together. Mature pairs may eventually spawn under suitable conditions.
They readily accept marine pellets and flakes along with frozen foods such as mysis shrimp and brine shrimp. A varied diet helps maintain colour and condition.
They are generally peaceful, although an established pair can become territorial around its chosen area.
Assuming an anemone is essential
Ocellaris Clownfish can thrive perfectly well without an anemone.
Keeping them with aggressive tank mates
Their peaceful nature makes them unsuitable for highly aggressive marine communities.
Overfeeding
Clownfish are enthusiastic feeders. Feed controlled portions and maintain good water quality.
Not providing suitable shelter
Rockwork and other structures provide territory and security.
Expecting every clownfish to host an anemone
Hosting behaviour varies between individuals, and captive-bred clownfish may never host an anemone.
