Aquasonic Oodonex

Aquasonic Marine Oodonex is a liquid medication formulated to treat marine velvet (Oodinium) and white spot (Cryptocaryon irritans) in saltwater aquarium fish. It combines copper sulfate and aminacrine hydrochloride to effectively combat these parasitic infections. The treatment is designed for use in fish-only marine aquariums and is not safe for corals or invertebrates. The recommended dosage is 5 mL per 40 liters of aquarium water daily for four days. For optimal results, it is advised to halve the daily dose and add it to the tank twice daily. Additionally, maintaining a pH above 7.8 and monitoring copper levels to ensure they remain at or below 0.25 ppm are crucial for the safety of the fish. Before commencing treatment, a 25% water change is recommended, and activated carbon should be removed from the filtration system. Raising the aquarium temperature by 2–3°C can also assist in accelerating the treatment process.
