Aquaforest Magnesium is a specialized supplement designed to maintain optimal magnesium levels in reef aquariums, a critical factor for coral health and overall water chemistry stability. Magnesium plays a vital role in preventing calcium precipitation and maintaining the balance between calcium and alkalinity, which is essential for the proper development of corals. A deficiency in magnesium can lead to difficulties in maintaining appropriate calcium levels and can cause a drop in pH, adversely affecting coral growth and coloration. The recommended magnesium concentration in reef aquaria is between 1180–1460 mg/L (ppm). Aquaforest Magnesium is available in two forms: a dry powder and a concentrated liquid solution. The dry powder is cost-effective and can be dissolved in reverse osmosis deionized (RODI) water to create a dosing solution. The liquid form, known as Mg Plus, offers a convenient and precise method for raising magnesium levels without affecting other water parameters. Both products are formulated to be easily absorbed by corals, ensuring efficient supplementation and supporting a thriving reef environment.
