About Two Spot Hogfish
The Two Spot Hogfish is a colourful and active reef fish recognised by its pink-orange body, yellow markings and two distinctive dark spots on the upper body. Its bold colouration and constant activity make it an attractive addition to a mature marine aquarium.
Two Spot Hogfish are active hunters that spend their time exploring rockwork, caves and reef structures searching for small crustaceans and other prey. They are generally peaceful when young but can become more assertive as they mature.
They are reef safe with caution. While they will generally leave corals alone, they may prey upon small ornamental shrimp, crabs, snails and other small invertebrates.
A secure lid is recommended, as hogfish can jump when startled.
