Aquaforest KH Buffer is a high-purity powdered alkalinity supplement designed for reef aquariums. It helps maintain and stabilize carbonate hardness (KH or alkalinity) in marine systems, which is essential for pH stability, coral calcification, and healthy growth of SPS, LPS, soft corals, and clams. The formula increases alkalinity without introducing unwanted elements, making it an economical and precise method to support your reef’s water chemistry. To use, you dissolve about 80 g of KH Buffer into 1,000 mL of RO/DI water to create a dosing solution; this solution, when dosed appropriately, can raise the tank’s dKH gradually (careful not to exceed ~0.5 dKH increase per day).
