Bring brilliant electric-blue colour to your freshwater aquarium with the Neon Blue Ram, a selectively bred variety of the popular Ram Cichlid. With shimmering blue scales, iridescent highlights and a compact body shape, this eye-catching dwarf cichlid makes a striking addition to a well-maintained tropical aquarium.
Neon Blue Rams are best suited to peaceful community aquariums with compatible tank mates. They often display interesting personalities and may form pairs, especially when kept in suitable conditions. Like other ram cichlids, they can become territorial around breeding sites.
These fish prefer warm, clean water and stable aquarium conditions. They are not the best choice for newly established tanks or aquariums with fluctuating temperatures and water chemistry. Provide fine sand or smooth substrate, plants, driftwood and sheltered areas to encourage natural behaviour.
A varied diet of quality micro pellets, flakes and appropriately sized frozen or live foods helps maintain their colour and condition. With attentive care and stable water quality, Neon Blue Rams can become a beautiful centrepiece in a tropical freshwater aquarium.
