About Green Diamond Cherry Shrimp

Green Diamond Cherry Shrimp are a striking colour variety of Neocaridina davidi, prized for their deep green to emerald-green colouration and attractive translucent body. They are a great choice for planted aquariums and shrimp-only setups, where their vibrant colour stands out beautifully against dark substrate and green plants.

Like other Neocaridina varieties, Green Diamond Shrimp are relatively hardy and adaptable when kept in stable, mature aquarium conditions. They spend much of their time grazing on algae, biofilm and microscopic organisms across plants, rocks, driftwood and other surfaces.

A mature planted aquarium with plenty of natural grazing surfaces, moss and hiding places is ideal. They are peaceful and can be kept with other peaceful nano fish, although very small shrimplets may be eaten by fish.

Green Diamond Shrimp are also relatively easy to breed. Given stable water parameters, adequate food and suitable cover, females can regularly carry eggs and produce young.
