The Red Tiger Galaxy Shrimp is one of the most breathtaking and exclusive freshwater shrimp available. This premium Caridina variety combines the striking tiger stripe genetics with the spectacular white "galaxy" spotting found in Taiwan Bee shrimp, resulting in an extraordinary shrimp with deep ruby-red tones, bold tiger markings, and dazzling white or metallic star-like speckles.
Each Red Tiger Galaxy Shrimp is uniquely patterned, making every individual a living work of art. Highly sought after by collectors and advanced shrimp keepers, they bring exceptional colour and elegance to premium aquascapes and dedicated shrimp aquariums.
Red Tiger Galaxy Shrimp spend their day grazing on biofilm, algae, and microorganisms growing on mosses, driftwood, botanicals, and rocks. A mature aquarium with stable water chemistry and abundant natural grazing surfaces is essential for long-term success.
They thrive in heavily planted aquariums with mosses, Indian Almond Leaves, botanicals, driftwood, and soft, slightly acidic water. Due to their specialised requirements, they are best kept in dedicated Caridina aquariums or alongside very peaceful nano fish such as Otocinclus, Pygmy Corydoras, and Blue-eye Rainbowfish.
A varied diet of premium Caridina shrimp foods, algae wafers, spirulina, mulberry leaves, Indian Almond Leaves, blanched vegetables, and occasional protein-rich foods will support healthy moulting, vibrant colours, and successful breeding.
Rare, vibrant, and incredibly rewarding to keep, the Red Tiger Galaxy Shrimp is a true collector's shrimp and a spectacular centrepiece for advanced freshwater shrimp aquariums.

No. Red Tiger Galaxy Shrimp are an advanced Caridina variety that requires soft, acidic water, stable parameters, and a mature aquarium. They are best suited to experienced shrimp keepers.
They feed on biofilm, premium Caridina shrimp foods, algae, spirulina, mulberry leaves, Indian Almond Leaves, blanched vegetables, and occasional protein-rich foods.
Yes, but only with very peaceful nano species such as Otocinclus, Pygmy Corydoras, and Blue-eye Rainbowfish. A dedicated shrimp aquarium provides the best breeding success and shrimplet survival.
Yes. Like other Caridina cantonensis varieties, they complete their entire life cycle in freshwater when kept under the correct conditions.
Although they generally won't hybridise with Neocaridina davidi, the two groups require different water parameters. Red Tiger Galaxy Shrimp are best maintained in a dedicated Caridina aquarium.
Red Tiger Galaxy Shrimp require soft, slightly acidic water. Hard water often leads to moulting problems, poor breeding success, and reduced lifespan.
A mature aquarium rich in biofilm is essential before introducing these shrimp.
Rapid changes in temperature, pH, GH, KH, or TDS can cause stress and moulting failures. Always acclimate slowly.
Even small community fish may prey on shrimplets. Dedicated shrimp tanks offer the highest survival rates.
Feed sparingly to maintain pristine water quality. Healthy aquariums provide plenty of natural biofilm for grazing between meals.

This animal has been hand-selected, acclimated and inspected before sale. We still recommend acclimating slowly at home - inverts are sensitive to sudden parameter swings. Our team is happy to talk you through the right setup - just ask.
