The Fork-Tail Blue Eye is a spectacular small Australian rainbowfish known for its bright yellow fins, electric blue eyes and distinctive forked tail. Their energetic swimming style and vibrant colours make them an excellent choice for planted nano and community aquariums.
These peaceful schooling fish are best kept in groups, where they become more confident and display their natural behaviour. They appreciate plenty of plants, open swimming areas and gentle to moderate water movement.
Yes. They are peaceful community fish and can be kept with other similarly sized, non-aggressive species.
A group of 6 or more is recommended. Larger groups allow them to display more natural schooling and social behaviour.
They enjoy small quality flakes and micro pellets. Frozen and live foods such as baby brine shrimp and daphnia are excellent additions.
Yes. They look particularly impressive in planted tanks, especially when surrounded by greenery and given open areas for swimming.
Fork-Tail Blue Eyes are social schooling fish. Keeping them in very small numbers can make them nervous and less active.
Their small mouths are better suited to appropriately sized flakes, micro pellets and small frozen/live foods.
Avoid large or aggressive tank mates that may intimidate, injure or prey on them.
