The Foxface Rabbitfish (Siganus vulpinus) is a striking and highly useful marine fish recognised by its bright yellow body, bold black facial markings and elongated rabbit-like snout. It is one of the most popular rabbitfish for larger reef aquariums.

Foxface are particularly valued for their appetite for nuisance algae, including many forms of hair algae. While they should not be considered a replacement for proper aquarium maintenance, a healthy Foxface can be an excellent natural grazer.

Despite their impressive appearance, Foxface are generally peaceful community fish and can coexist with a wide range of reef inhabitants. They spend much of their day grazing across rocks and aquarium surfaces.

They require plenty of swimming space and mature rockwork to explore and graze. Their dorsal, anal and pelvic spines are venomous, so care should be taken when handling or working inside the aquarium.

Foxface are generally considered reef safe, although individual fish may occasionally pick at certain soft or fleshy corals if natural food sources are insufficient.
