The T-Bar Cichlid is a beautiful and relatively peaceful Central American cichlid, admired for its elegant body shape, shimmering blue-green highlights, and distinctive black "T"-shaped marking along its side. Native to the rivers and streams of Costa Rica, this hardy species is an excellent choice for aquarists wanting a colourful cichlid without the extreme aggression often associated with larger Central American species.

T-Bar Cichlids develop stunning iridescent blue scales across their face and fins, while mature females display vibrant orange to red colouring across their belly during breeding.
