Add a unique shimmer to your freshwater aquarium with the Albino Black Neon Tetra, a distinctive pale colour variety of the popular Black Neon Tetra. With its creamy white to pale golden body, subtle iridescent stripe and characteristic reddish eyes, this attractive schooling fish creates a beautiful contrast against lush green plants and darker aquarium backgrounds.
Despite its name, the Albino Black Neon Tetra is not an albino version of the standard Neon Tetra. It belongs to a different species, Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi, and retains the peaceful nature and active swimming behaviour that make Black Neon Tetras popular community fish.
These social fish are best kept in groups of at least six, with larger schools creating a more natural display and encouraging confident behaviour. They spend much of their time swimming through the middle levels of the aquarium and can be kept with other peaceful tropical species of a similar size.
A planted aquarium with open swimming areas, stable water conditions and gentle to moderate water flow makes an excellent environment. Their pale colouring looks particularly striking against dark substrate, driftwood and green aquatic plants.
Albino Black Neon Tetras are generally straightforward to feed, accepting quality tropical flakes and micro pellets alongside frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp and daphnia. A varied diet and regular aquarium maintenance will help maintain their health and natural activity.
