About the Celestial Pearl Danio

The Celestial Pearl Danio, also known as the Galaxy Rasbora, is one of the most breathtaking nano fish in the freshwater aquarium hobby. Native to small, shallow ponds in Myanmar, this tiny species is renowned for its deep navy-blue body covered in pearly white spots and brilliant orange to red fins, creating the appearance of a star-filled night sky.

Despite their small size, Celestial Pearl Danios are active, curious, and full of personality. Males display the most vibrant colours, especially during courtship, while females are slightly larger with a more rounded body and subtler markings. When kept in well-planted aquariums with dark substrates and plenty of cover, their colours become even more intense.

Celestial Pearl Danios thrive in densely planted nano aquariums with driftwood, mosses, floating plants, and gentle water flow. They should be kept in schools of at least 8–10 fish, where they exhibit fascinating social interactions and natural shoaling behaviour.
