The Dwarf Red Honey Gourami is a beautiful, peaceful freshwater fish prized for its rich red-orange colouration and gentle personality. A selectively bred colour form of the Honey Gourami, it combines stunning colour with a compact size, making it an excellent choice for planted community aquariums.
These gouramis are generally calm and spend much of their time exploring the middle and upper levels of the aquarium. They appreciate densely planted tanks with floating plants, shaded areas and gentle water movement. Their peaceful nature makes them suitable for community setups with other non-aggressive fish.

Yes. They can be kept singly, as a pair or in suitable groups depending on the aquarium size and layout. Providing plenty of plants and visual cover helps reduce territorial behaviour.
They accept quality micro pellets and flakes, with frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp and daphnia being excellent additions.
They don't strictly require live plants, but they thrive in heavily planted aquariums. Floating plants and surface cover can make them feel particularly secure.
Their peaceful nature means they can easily become stressed or outcompeted by aggressive tank mates.
Honey Gouramis prefer relatively calm water. Strong currents can make it difficult for them to move comfortably around the aquarium.
A bare aquarium can leave them feeling exposed. Plants, driftwood and floating vegetation provide valuable shelter and security.
