Every fish passes through our dedicated quarantine system and strict biosecurity monitoring before sale - so it arrives healthy, settled and ready to thrive. How we quarantine →
The Flame Dwarf Gourami is one of the most vibrant freshwater fish available, prized for its brilliant fiery red to orange body and peaceful temperament. A selectively bred colour variety of the Dwarf Gourami, this stunning fish adds a bold splash of colour to planted aquariums and tropical community tanks.
Males display intense flame-red and orange colouration across the body and fins, often accented by subtle iridescent blue highlights under aquarium lighting. Females are less colourful and are less commonly available. Flame Dwarf Gouramis are curious, intelligent fish that often interact with their owners and confidently explore all levels of the aquarium.
They thrive in well-planted aquariums with driftwood, floating plants, and gentle water movement. Dense planting provides shelter while open swimming areas allow them to display their natural behaviour. They coexist well with peaceful community fish including Tetras, Corydoras, Rasboras, Rainbowfish, Kuhli Loaches, and peaceful livebearers.
A varied diet of premium micro pellets, tropical flakes, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia, and other quality foods will maximise their brilliant colouration and overall health.
Beautiful, hardy, and full of personality, the Flame Dwarf Gourami is an outstanding centrepiece fish for peaceful freshwater aquariums.
