The Phoenix Tetra is a colourful and peaceful freshwater schooling fish that adds vibrant reds, oranges, and subtle iridescent tones to any community aquarium. Closely related to the Flame Tetra, this attractive species is an excellent choice for planted aquariums where its colours become even more intense against lush green plants and dark substrates.

Phoenix Tetras are active, social fish that should always be kept in schools of at least six, although groups of ten or more will display the most natural behaviour and striking colours. They are ideal companions for other peaceful species including Corydoras, rasboras, dwarf gouramis, small rainbowfish, and peaceful dwarf cichlids.
