The Coral Blue Dwarf Gourami is a breathtaking colour variety of the Dwarf Gourami, prized for its vibrant coral-red body overlaid with shimmering electric blue stripes. This peaceful labyrinth fish combines brilliant colouration with a calm temperament, making it one of the most popular centrepiece fish for planted aquariums and tropical community tanks.
Captive bred from the naturally occurring Dwarf Gourami, the Coral Blue variety displays intense metallic blue barring across the body with rich red to orange highlights extending through the fins. Males exhibit the most vivid colours, especially when displaying or breeding, while females are more subdued in appearance.
Coral Blue Dwarf Gouramis thrive in heavily planted aquariums with driftwood, floating plants, and gentle water movement. They appreciate shaded areas and plenty of cover while still having open swimming space. Their peaceful nature allows them to live comfortably with Tetras, Rasboras, Corydoras, Kuhli Loaches, Rainbowfish, peaceful Livebearers, and other non-aggressive community fish.
A varied diet of premium tropical micro pellets, quality flakes, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia, and live foods will enhance their brilliant colours and maintain excellent health.
With stunning colours, engaging personalities, and easy care requirements, the Coral Blue Dwarf Gourami is an outstanding addition to any freshwater community aquarium.
