The Golden Synodontis Catfish is a stunning selectively bred colour morph of the popular Synodontis catfish, admired for its vibrant golden-yellow body, contrasting dark markings, and active personality. Hardy and full of character, this attractive African catfish is an excellent addition to larger community aquariums and African cichlid displays.
Unlike many catfish that remain hidden throughout the day, Golden Synodontis are often active during daylight hours, exploring caves, driftwood, and rockwork in search of food. Their inquisitive nature and peaceful temperament make them an entertaining species to observe, while their bright golden colour provides a striking contrast against darker substrates and rocky aquascapes.
Golden Synodontis thrive in aquariums with plenty of caves, driftwood, rocky shelters, and strong filtration. They readily accept sinking pellets, algae wafers, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and other meaty foods. While generally peaceful, they are best housed with similarly sized fish, as very small fish may be viewed as food.
