The Da Vinci Clownfish is a popular designer Ocellaris Clownfish known for its striking white body, orange base colouration and distinctive irregular black-edged markings. Every individual can have a slightly different pattern, making each fish unique.
Da Vinci Clownfish are selectively bred from Amphiprion ocellaris and retain the same generally peaceful and hardy nature as standard Ocellaris Clownfish.
They are excellent fish for both beginner and experienced marine aquarists. They adapt readily to aquarium life and will accept a wide variety of prepared and frozen foods.
Da Vinci Clownfish can be kept individually or as a compatible pair. When paired, they will establish a territory and may eventually spawn.
They are reef safe and can be kept successfully with corals and most peaceful reef inhabitants. Anemones are not required, although they may choose to host in an appropriate anemone or coral.

Assuming every Da Vinci has the same pattern
Designer clownfish patterns vary between individuals, which is part of their appeal.
Thinking an anemone is required
Clownfish can thrive without an anemone in a home aquarium.
Adding an incompatible pair
Clownfish pairing can involve chasing and dominance behaviour while the hierarchy is established.
Overfeeding
Offer appropriately sized portions and maintain excellent water quality.
Keeping them with aggressive tank mates
Their generally peaceful nature makes them vulnerable to larger or highly aggressive fish.
